Charles Lapicque (1898–1988) was a prominent French painter associated with the School of Paris, a group of artists working in the French capital during the first half of the 20th century. He was known for his distinctive style that combined elements of Cubism and abstraction.

Lapicque's subjects varied, but he was particularly interested in depicting scenes from nature, including landscapes and animals. "Les Goélands" translates to "seagulls" in English.
